Chinese Nonwovens Grow Nearly 50% in Russian Market

The Russian business consulting website reported that the Russian nonwovens market continues to be under tremendous pressure from Chinese manufacturers. During 2014-2018, Chinese nonwoven materials on the Russian market increased from 252 million square meters to 360 million square meters, an increase of nearly 50%. In terms of value indicators, in 2018 Russia imported 52 million US dollars of nonwoven materials from China, an increase of 38%.
According to the data provided by the Russian nonwoven materials market compiled by marketing agency ROIF Expert: Research and Forecast until 2023, in the structure of imported nonwoven materials in the Russian market, Chinese products account for 22% in physical form, while in value Form representation accounts for 20%. At the same time, the import indicator line of nonwoven materials in Russia has been steadily increasing year by year. According to the annual results, the import volume of nonwoven materials has increased by 13%.
The import structure of non-woven materials in Russia is characterized by the predominance of non-woven materials with a surface density of no more than 25 grams per square meter. This material accounts for nearly 55% of the total imports, and this particularity is caused by the demand and consumption structure of Russian consumers for nonwoven materials. In the Russian market, this nonwoven material accounts for 57% of the total market, and at the same time, the growth of this nonwoven material is becoming a characteristic trend.
